More Than A Haircut: The Chair As A Classroom

By Mr. Banks

When a man sits down in my chair, he's not just getting lined up. He's stepping into a space where he can breathe, be heard, and be built up. That has always been the assignment.

For over twenty years I've watched the barbershop do what schools, offices, and even churches sometimes can't — get a man to open up. There's something about the sound of clippers and the mirror in front of you that pulls the truth out.

So we lean into it. We ask real questions. We give real answers. And when a young brother leaves this chair, he leaves with more than a fade. He leaves with a reminder that somebody sees him.
